Job summary

Winbro in Rock Hill, SC, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support installation, commissioning and service of our EDM, ECM and Laser machine tools across North America.

The role combines on-site work at the Rock Hill facility with field assignments, requiring 5+ years in electrical/electronic and mechanical maintenance, and travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years field working experience.
• Strong electrical, electronic and mechanical maintenance skills.
• Solid knowledge of PC-based CNC equipment and 5-axis machine tools.
• Proven ability to fault-find complex electronic control systems.
• Ability to work independently and travel across North America.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve machinery issues to ensure first-time repair with high customer service.
• Support installation, commissioning and servicing of Winbro machinery and equipment.
• Maintain and commission EDM, ECM and laser tools using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic subsystems.
• Install upgrades from drawings and perform software/firmware updates as needed.
• Provide proactive maintenance at customer sites and Rock Hill site, with timely service responses.
• Document service activities and generate periodic management reports.

JOIN US as a Field Service Engineer based out of our Rock Hill facility and we can offer you an opportunity to work in a high-tech, specialist company working with some of the best global names in aerospace, medical, semiconductor and clean energy. Time spent in this role is split equally between our site at Rock Hill and out with customers in the field.

Role and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the prompt identification and resolution of whole range machinery issues and breakdowns to ensure effective right first-time repair with a high level of customer service, always.
• Provide technical customer service and support during the installation, commissioning and servicing of Winbro manufactured machinery along with associated support equipment.
• Maintain, service and commission EDM, ECM and Laser machine tools utilizing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and high-pressure water systems troubleshooting skills.
• Install and commission technical upgrade packages from mechanical, pneumatic and electrical drawings along with Software & Firmware updates of required components.
• Contribute to customer satisfaction by executing preventive and reactive maintenance at customer sites or our Rock Hill site along with timely response to service requests.
• Provide technical support and service training both internally and externally while maintaining professional and technical knowledge.
• Service, maintain or build Winbro equipment within our Rock Hill manufacturing facility, or customer site as required.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement effort and the support of multiple teams.
• Accurate completion of written and PC based maintenance records.
• Provide periodic reports to management including customer complaints, trends and suggestions for improvement.
• Additional responsibilities include customer relationship management, written documentation of service activities, and effective interaction and communication with internal technical support personnel, Manufacturing and Sales.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years field working experience.
• Excellent all round skills in electrical/electronic and mechanical maintenance disciplines.
• Detailed working knowledge of PC based CNC equipment and drive systems as applied to complex 5 axis CNC machine tools.
• A clear and logical approach to fault finding complex electronic control systems as well as reactive service and preventative maintenance activities.
• Able to work alone, using your own initiative but also able to liaise with other team members for coordinated problem solving.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout North America 50%, working time at base 50%.
