Job summary

Winbro Group Technologies in Rock Hill, SC, is seeking an Applications Engineer to blend engineering know-how with software optimization and project leadership on challenging customer applications.

You will support trials, lead NPI activities, develop machining processes using Laser Ablation, Laser Drilling, and EDM, and provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support while traveling 50–75% to customer locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with 5-axis machine tool controls.
• Experience in Laser Drilling, Cutting, welding, Laser Ablation, or EDM Hole Drilling.
• Strong understanding of 5-axis machine tool principles and kinematics.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex 3D geometry.
• Experience developing machining applications for aerospace or industrial gas turbines.
• Familiarity with PLC and HMI software.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% to customer locations.
• US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to facility access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support NPI activities, transitioning concepts to production-ready processes.
• Develop and optimize machine tools and processes using Laser Ablation, Laser Drilling, and EDM.
• Drive continuous improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Demonstrate tools and provide technical training; deliver applications support for contracts.
• Provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support and develop technical documentation.
• Maintain compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
