Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Knoxville, TN, focusing on automation and design. The role involves reviewing specs, developing clarifications, and supporting the sales team during proposals.

You will size equipment, prepare drawings, and coordinate with project engineers on technical execution. The ideal candidate has a BS degree (MS preferred) and at least 5 years of application engineering experience in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering (BSME or BSChem) required.
• Minimum 5+ years of Application Engineering experience within manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Review specifications to standard offerings.
• Develop technical clarifications and exceptions to specifications.
• Support Sales during proposals (technical and client-facing support).
• Size equipment as needed.
• Prepare proposal drawings (P&ID, general arrangement, component lists).
• Obtain technical quotes for non-standard equipment/components.
• Develop (redline) Project P&ID.
• Specify non-standard valves and instruments.
• Work with Project Engineers during technical execution.
• Develop a Process Functional Description for non-standard products.
• Develop test procedures from specifications and standard test procedures.
• Approve drawings/BOMs per procedures with input from sketches and calculations.
• Prepare test reports for customer review and approval.
• Review technical manuals for drawings and component literature.
