Job summary

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering, such as Ceramics, Metallurgy, Chemical, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Knowledge of industry/customer applications and general refractory science.
• Marketing and technical skills.
• Knowledge of product lines, product characteristics, construction, installations, customer applications, estimating, quality control, manufacturing, and sales skills helpful.
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and business problem-solving skills.
• Project management skills and ability to coordinate multi-department projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for customer assistance, customer quotations, internal and external training, complaint investigation, failure analysis, and R&D activities
• Analyze application needs and propose, alter, or define lining designs and installation methods
• Execute product promotions and marketing strategies as a cross-functional team member
• Prepare for and attend industry tradeshows
• Perform market and product portfolio analysis to identify emerging business opportunities
• Provide strategic customer sales and technical support
• Assist with product rationalization, portfolio modifications, and shape standardization
• Contribute to product pricing and positioning
• Work with the engineering team to solve customer problems and provide solutions

• Approximately 35% travel, primarily domestic, with occasional international travel
