Job summary

Systems & Test Engineering is seeking an Application Engineer to join the Systems Support team in Austin, TX. The role focuses on post-delivery support for complex test systems, combining hardware and software expertise with clear customer communication.

Ideal candidates will have DoD clearance or the ability to obtain one, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in fast-paced customer-facing environments while driving issues to resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer/electrical engineering, information systems, or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience with customer-facing roles.
• DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Strong understanding of test engineering, electronics, and computer architectures (LabVIEW, PXI).
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in fast-paced customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Support site acceptance testing, commissioning, training, and startup activities for complex, custom test systems.
• Voice of the customer: communicate needs, issues, and insights to product/business teams for improvement.
• Provide first-line technical support, coaching, and training to customer personnel.
• Own issues through resolution: troubleshoot, reproduce, document findings, coordinate cross-functional support.
• Support on-site service, repair, and installation; participate in customer installation and training programs.
