Technology Service Corporation Defense Services is seeking a Software System Test Engineer to join our engineering team across Arlington, VA; Aurora, CO; Huntsville, AL; or Bedminster, NJ. The role focuses on building robust test strategies for embedded software and coordinating with software/hardware teams to ensure high-quality releases.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of experience in software/system testing, strong scripting skills (Python, Bash), and proficiency with Linux-based embedded

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5–7 years in software/system testing for embedded systems.
• Experience with Linux-based embedded systems and network testing.
• Strong proficiency in developing and executing system test cases for embedded software.
• Proficient in test automation using scripting languages (Python, Bash).
• Proficient in Git source control and CI workflows.
• U.S. Citizenship is required and ability to obtain DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated and manual test frameworks for embedded software.
• Collaborate with software and hardware engineering teams to define test requirements and strategies.
• Perform integration, regression, and performance testing across multiple platforms and environments.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes of issues, and drive resolution with development teams.
• Mentor junior test engineers and provide technical guidance throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Document test plans, procedures, and results for internal and customer deliverables.
• Support software release management by validating deliverables and ensuring quality standards.
• Utilize scripting tools (Python, Bash) for test automation and data analysis.
