Job summary
OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking an Application Engineer in Norfolk to design and develop components and systems per customer requests, modifying existing designs as needed. You will apply engineering principles to meet customer specifications and manufacturing cost targets, draft using AutoCAD LT or SolidWorks, and support PLC/HMI programming with Siemens or Allen-Bradley systems.

Qualifications
- Associates degree or technical certificate in mathematics, mechanical technology or related field, or equivalent training/experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD LT or SolidWorks for drafting.
- Exposure to PLC/HMI programming (Siemens Simatic S7 or Allen Bradley RSLogix).
- Strong computer software skills (Excel, PowerPoint, PDF).
Responsibilities
- Review design requests and evaluate feasibility and cost.
- Define product requirements and plan design specifications.
- Assist with project management and supplier negotiations.
- Recommend improvements to reliability and performance; participate in CI activities.
- Resolve production issues with manufacturing teams.
