Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies seeks an Applications Engineer to bridge engineering design and customer requirements by offering technical expertise, product selection, and application support. You will analyze specs, size rotating equipment, draft configurations, and collaborate with sales and service teams.

The role involves generating quotes, processing orders, interpreting CAD drawings, and providing on-site technical support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, project management, or similar field.
• Experience with sizing and selection of rotating equipment (pumps and motors).
• Experience in industrial equipment sales and procurement.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role.

Responsibilities

• Receive customer inquiries about new equipment or service of existing equipment.
• Analyze customer specifications and propose suitable product configurations and modifications.
• Collaborate with sales and service teams to understand customer needs and develop tailored equipment or service solutions.
• Generate quotes via CRM or ERP and manage electronic quote and order files.
• Enter and process customer purchase orders, acting as a liaison between the manufacturer / supplier and the customer.
• Review and interpret technical documentation, including CAD drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and application data.
• Provide technical support to customers during pre-sale and post-sale stages, including on-site visits if required.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies.
• Other duties as assigned.
