Job summary

John H. Carter Company, Inc. is seeking a customer-focused sales/engineering professional to provide technical assistance and product support to factories and vendors in Baton Rouge.

The role involves sizing and selecting products using approved software, quoting customers with accurate lead times and pricing, and collaborating with product manufacturers. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in sales or engineering, with a BS in engineering preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of sales or engineering experience.
• BS in an Engineering discipline is optimal.
• In absence of engineering degree, relative industry experience is sufficient.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a representative dealing with internal and external customers including factories and vendors on day-to-day business matters.
• Provide technical assistance and support, factory support, and technical product support.
• Size and select products using provided software based on flow curves (Cv), torques, processing conditions, IEC valve equations, and bulletins.
• Troubleshoot customer applications and products.
• Quote customers in a timely manner including product selection, lead-time, and pricing.
• Collaborate with JHC product manufacturers and attend required trainings.
• Participate in the after-hours and weekend On-Call rotation.
• Be a team player and build solid relationships.

Job description

Serves as a representative dealing with internal and external customers including factories and vendors on day-to-day business matters. Responsibilities include providing technical assistance/support, factory support, technical product support and meeting with vendors on order status updates.

• Technical product selection and documentation based on customer processing conditions.
• Using provided software for sizing and selection of products based off of published flow curves (Cv), torques, processing conditions, IEC valve equations, and bulletins.
• Challenged daily to expand technical knowledge.
• Ability to troubleshoot customer applications and products.
• Responsible for quoting customers in a timely manner which includes, product selection, lead-time, and pricing.
• Work closely with and support the JHC product manufactures
• Attend and participate in required trainings
• Participate in the after hour and weekend ‘On-Call’ rotation
• Be a team player, and work well as group
• Always build and cultivate solid relationships

Education and/or Work Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of sales or engineering experience
• BS in an Engineering Discipline is optimal
• In absence of engineering degree, relative industry experience is sufficient.
