Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Understanding of fluid-flow principles, sizing, flow coefficients, pressure drop calculations.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs and read 3D models to review drawings and datasheets.
  • Experience evaluating operating conditions (pressure, temperature, flow, fluids) for equipment selection.
  • Familiarity with engineering codes and standards (ASME, API, NACE, CE, PED).

  • Evaluate operating conditions to determine appropriate equipment configurations and assist with sizing and selection.
  • Interpret P&IDs, 3D models, and technical drawings to support equipment specifications.
  • Perform engineering calculations for sizing, pressure drop, and flow.
  • Provide technical quotations, product documentation, and customer troubleshooting support.
  • Assist with investigations and preparation of installation instructions and sizing tools.

Job description

The Application Engineer will evaluate operating conditions and customer specifications to determine appropriate equipment configurations and assist with sizing and selection. The role requires the ability to interpret technical drawings and process documentation, perform engineering calculations, identify potential application issues, and communicate technical recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

This position will also provide support for engineered and custom applications, technical quotations, product documentation, customer troubleshooting, manufacturing documentation, and investigations involving product or application issues. The successful candidate will combine sound engineering judgment with strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.

Required education/experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with a minumum of 2+ years of engineering experience involvingfluid-control products, process equipment, valves, or pumps
  • Demonstrated understanding of fluid-flow principles, equipment sizing, flow coefficients, pressure drop, and related engineering calculations.
  • Experience evaluating operating conditions such as pressure, temperature, flow rate, fluid characteristics, and material compatibility when selecting equipment.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, utilize 3D modeling applications to read technical drawings, equipment datasheets, specifications, and other engineering documentation.
  • Working knowledge of materials used in industrial fluid-handling applications, including metals, seals, seats, elastomers, and related components.
  • Familiarity with applicable engineering codes, standards, and regulatory requirements such as ASME, API, NACE, CE, and PED.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects or technical requests while working independently and meeting established deadlines.
  • Experience providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, product recommendations, or application support to customers or internal teams.
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Direct valve design or product development experience associated with fluid handling equipment
  • Experience providing technical presentations, product demonstrations, customer training, or sales support.
  • Demonstrated successsupporting equipment sizing and using proficient withengineering calculation tools, configurators, or technical software.
  • Experience working with ERP, MRP, or product lifecycle management systems.
  • Experience using 3D CAD or mechanical design software.
  • Experience developing technical documentation, application guides, sizing tools, installation instructions, or product support materials
