Job summary

Marion County seeks an IT Supervisor of Application Development to lead a team delivering and modernizing applications for a multi‑department enterprise. The role blends technical direction with people leadership, driving practice change and accountability while ensuring secure, quality delivery.

The successful candidate will own the service backlog, enforce standards, manage performance, and collaborate across IT and departments to achieve business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and IT project management or related experience.
• Two years of IT project management or technically related experience; two years of supervisory or three years lead experience.
• Combined experience and training as determined by Marion County.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Application Development team with clear performance expectations and accountable delivery.
• Own delivery and continuous improvement of the service across departments, with a prioritized backlog.
• Establish development discipline, standards, and deployment procedures across the team.
• Coordinate governance and cross-team work within the IT service management program.
• Participate in budget discussions and ongoing professional development activities.
