Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking an IT supervisor to oversee applications support and development teams. You will manage daily operations, ensure project deadlines, and drive the full SDLC across multiple applications.

The role requires strong programming skills across VB.NET, C#.NET, .NET Core, HTML, JavaScript, and SQL Server, plus excellent verbal and written communication. On‑call duties and collaboration with department leaders are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
• 7 years of job-related experience, including 5 years of supervisory/management experience; experience in programming and systems design.
• Strong multi‑platform programming skills with VB.NET, C#.NET, .NET Core, PowerBuilder, HTML, XML, JavaScript, PHP, SQL Server, and PL/SQL.
• Strong verbal and written communication, supervisory and organization skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with the public, other employees, and officials.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of applications support staff and development staff.
• Ensure deadlines for projects, teams, and departments are met.
• Oversee SDLC for all applications under area of responsibility.
• Provide periodic reports on project status and resource utilization.
• Train, counsel, supervise and appraise staff for growth and job satisfaction.
• Evaluate user requirements and implement cost-effective solutions.
• Be on-call 24/7 for IT support issues.
• Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
