Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers and ensure solutions meet business needs. The role balances design leadership with hands-on coding and requires expertise in RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, and API design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development and SDLC.
• 3 years of experience in database technologies and systems analysis.
• Experience with RPG, Java, SQL, Angular and APIs design and implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation on business requirements and translate to software designs.
• Review development of enterprise software solutions and ensure alignment with standards.
• Split time between design/mentorship and hands-on coding (~50/50).
• Develop design prototypes and ensure adherence to architecture standards.
• Guide technical direction for integrated enterprise applications across environments.
