Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, align projects with business processes, and ensure timely delivery of enterprise applications. You will work with architects, developers, and business users to translate complex requirements into reliable solutions.

The role combines design leadership with hands-on coding across RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, and API design, while mentoring teammates and upholding standards.

Qualifications

• Education to be Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field typically required.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of experience with database technologies (SQL, etc.).
• Experience on projects following SDLC.
• Systems analysis experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, and APIs design is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation on business requirements and functional specifications; guide design and coding efforts.
• Review and shape highly complex enterprise software solutions.
• Balance design leadership with hands-on delivery of code (50/50).
• Develop and validate complex software designs; ensure adherence to architecture standards.
• Mentor and lead project teams, guiding design, coding, and deployment of solutions.
