Job description

Job Description:

This position is responsible for complex to expert level work supporting information technology applications through planning, designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing them.

Examples include electronic health records, registration, scheduling, billing and collections, lab and pathology, radiology, PACS, cardiovascular, pharmacy, home care, long-term care, population health, consumer and patient-facing technologies, ERP, workforce scheduling, and CRM.

The Principal Analyst oversees technical support, configuration, integration, and maintenance of healthcare applications throughout their lifecycle, including selection, implementation, support, archival, and decommissioning.

This role provides strategic guidance, ensures alignment with organizational goals, manages projects, mentors team members, and develops best practices and standards for application management.

Principal Analysts may supervise lower-level analysts and perform functions independently with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions:
  1. Support stakeholders by analyzing and diagnosing problems for resolution.
  2. Gather, validate, and translate technical requirements into design and development specifications.
  3. Configure, test, install, implement, monitor, and maintain systems and workflows.
  4. Document and recommend workflow and technical/functional design changes.
  5. Partner with external vendors for third-party application support and integration.
  6. Resolve complex issues according to service levels and standards.
  7. Serve as Project Manager for complex projects, collaborating with the DTS Project Manager.
  8. Review project quality, manage demand and resources, and develop remediation plans.
  9. Mentor team members and identify training opportunities.
  10. Develop and maintain best practices and standards collaboratively.
  11. Follow documentation and change management standards.
  12. Create training and knowledge materials.
  13. Configure and integrate hardware with software to meet client needs.
  14. Develop understanding of business reporting needs.
  15. Participate in on-call and command center duties.
  16. Develop and maintain testing plans and scripts.
  17. Participate in meetings to enhance communication.
  18. Assist in budget creation, forecasting, and justification.
  19. Participate in industry groups and community discussions.
  20. Manage IT project portfolios, ensuring alignment with strategy and delivering value.
  21. Engage with leadership and stakeholders to facilitate data-driven decisions.
  22. Use KPIs to evaluate project benefits and extract lessons learned.
  23. Provide detailed project information to support decision-making.
  24. Conduct service reviews and communicate improvement processes.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Deep knowledge of business and applications.
  • Understanding of system analysis and hospital operating systems.
  • Needs assessment and documentation skills.
  • Problem-solving and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to interpret industry and governmental regulations.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Strategic resource planning abilities.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, healthcare, business, or related field (additional experience may substitute).
  • Healthy Planet Compass Rose certification.
  • 3+ years experience with Epic Care Management tools.
  • 2+ years experience with Epic Compass Rose programs.
  • Experience with collaborative care plans and SDoH.
  • Experience with Reporting Workbench reports.
  • Experience with Epic modules like Ambulatory or ClinDoc.
  • Strong Epic application build, configuration, and maintenance skills.
  • Eight years of healthcare work experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Operate computers and IT equipment.
  • See and read monitors and documents.
  • Remain seated or standing for long periods.

Location: Peaks Regional Office, Broomfield, Colorado

Hours: 40 hours/week

The hourly rate ranges from $53.58 to $84.36, depending on experience.
