Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to perform basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering product questions.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products, respond to questions, and make suggestions.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Observe scheduled shift operating hours.
• Adhere to all health and safety codes.
• Model excellent customer service, friendliness, and cleanliness of the department.
• Demonstrate creative merchandising.
• Keep displays fully stocked and conditioned according to standards.
• Be aware of arrival dates of products.
• Maintain workload to meet production deadlines.
• Assist with creating additional sales through bulletins and announcements.
• Complete paperwork according to company policy.
• Follow all merchandising, customer service, cash control, labor, expense, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, and engagement rules.
• Promote sales through intercom announcements.
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
• Must be able to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
