Qualifications

  • Two years of counseling experience, preferred, in a group setting.
  • Two years of experience preferred in social services, criminal justice system/jail/prison, working with re-entry and/or probation populations and experience and demonstrated skills in group counseling.
  • Must be knowledgeable and sensitive to domestic violence and diversity issues.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate minimum of 2 weekly groups of 10-15 participants.
  • Conduct interviews to assess risk to self or others.
  • Engage participants in orientation and ongoing treatment processes via group counseling.
  • Document participant needs and refer to Case Manager for placement and follow-up.
  • Document group sessions and interactions within required timeframe.
  • Attend training seminars to enhance clinical skills.
  • Attend weekly conference calls and staff meetings.
  • Function independently during coverage and crisis actions per procedures.
  • Regularly assess safety and well-being of clients.
  • Develop with each group of participants a contract of goals and objectives.
