Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician at our Austin, TX properties to prepare vacant units for leasing. You will perform repairs, caulking, painting, and inspections to ensure market-ready conditions while supporting safety and cost-control initiatives.

Successful candidates are able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays, and can lift up to 50 pounds with assistance. Travel between properties may be required.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Experience in apartment/maintenance make-ready tasks is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Completes all needed repairs and improvements to apartment homes prior to resident move-in by following the community’s make-ready checklist.
• Ensures apartment homes are caulked and sealed around windows, sinks, toilets, bathtubs, and showers.
• Inspects sheetrock for damage and repairs/replaces as needed.
• Performs touch-up painting for vacant and occupied units as directed by supervisor.
• Maintains grounds and common areas; cleans and paints curbs and signage as needed.
• Supports cost-cutting by fixing rather than replacing parts when possible and using materials efficiently.
• Completes make-ready checklist and required maintenance documentation in a timely manner.
• Follows safety policies and completes OSHA training and other safety requirements.
• Provides courteous customer service to residents and responds to maintenance requests with urgency.
