Job summary

Preferred Apartment Communities is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician to support maintenance requests across our communities. You will perform residential repairs, respond to emergencies, and prepare vacant units to rent.

The role involves upkeep of amenity areas and coordination with residents and the Community Manager. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of maintenance experience, basic budget awareness, and a refrigeration certification or willingness to obtain one within 90 days.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years maintenance experience, preferably in apartments.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Budget or basic business finance helpful.
• Refrigeration certification (type 2 or universal) or obtain in first 90 days.
• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all maintenance requests and amenity area maintenance.
• Complete maintenance work orders for residents (appliances, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.).
• Respond to after-hours emergency maintenance calls.
• Prepare vacant apartments to make rent-ready.
• Perform preventative maintenance and maintain tools/inventory.
