Job summary

Preferred Apartment Communities seeks a proactive Maintenance Technician to support apartment communities with maintenance requests, preventative tasks, and amenity area upkeep. You will complete work orders across appliances, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and gate systems while ensuring resident satisfaction.

This role includes after-hours emergency responses, stocking the shop, and assisting the Maintenance Manager with budget responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years maintenance experience (apartment maintenance preferred).
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Budget or basic business finance helpful.
• Refrigeration certification (type 2 or universal) or obtain in the first 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver's license (free from major moving violations) and dependable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all maintenance requests, preventative maintenance, and amenity area maintenance for the apartment community.
• Completes maintenance work orders for residents (service appliances, plumbing, HVAC systems, minor electrical, gate systems, pool operations, etc.).
• Responds and resolves emergency maintenance requests for after business hours calls (weeknights, weekends, and holidays).
• Prepares vacant apartments to make rent ready.
• Performs preventative maintenance work.
• Keeps the maintenance shop clean and organized; maintains adequate stock/inventory of parts for equipment, appliances, etc.
• Interacts directly with residents.
• Maintains logbooks and databases; enters service requests and status updates into database.
• Assists in monitoring contractors work performance.
• Supports the Maintenance Manager in meeting budget responsibilities.
• Follows and promotes company policies and procedures.
• Must make Customer Service a priority.
• If the property does not have a housekeeper, light cleaning duties will be required.
• Maintain (clean, orderly, and in working conditions) all amenity areas.
