Job summary

Preferred Apartment Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to assist with daily maintenance, resident service requests, and preventative tasks across the apartment community. The role includes handling plumbing, appliances, HVAC, electrical, and gate systems, while preparing vacancies and maintaining the shop and inventory.

Candidates should have 1-3 years in maintenance, strong troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to obtain refrigeration certification if needed.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years maintenance experience, apartment maintenance preferred.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Budget or basic business finance helpful.
• Refrigeration certification (type 2 or universal) or obtain in the first 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all maintenance requests, preventative maintenance, and amenity area maintenance for the apartment community.
• Completes maintenance work orders for residents (service appliances, plumbing, HVAC systems, minor electrical, gate systems, pool operations, etc.).
• Responds and resolves emergency maintenance requests for after business hours calls.
• Prepares vacant apartments to make rent ready.
• Performs preventative maintenance work.
• Keep the maintenance shop clean and organized; maintains adequate stock/inventory of parts for equipment, appliances, etc.
• Interacts directly with residents.
• Maintains logbooks and databases; enters service requests and status updates into database.
• Assists in monitoring contractors work performance.
• Supports the Maintenance Manager in meeting budget responsibilities.
