Job summary

Preferred Apartment Communities is seeking a qualified Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team in the Charlotte area. You will handle maintenance requests, complete service orders, and respond to emergencies after hours to ensure resident satisfaction and safety.

The role involves preparing vacants, performing preventative maintenance, and maintaining amenity areas. Strong customer service and physical capability are essential for success in this on-site position.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of maintenance experience (apartment maintenance preferred).
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Budget or basic business finance helpful.
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all maintenance requests, preventative maintenance, and amenity area maintenance for the apartment community.
• Completes maintenance work orders for residents (service appliances, plumbing, HVAC systems, minor electrical, gate systems, pool operations, etc.).
• Responds to and resolves emergency maintenance requests during after-hours (weeknights, weekends, holidays).
• Prepares vacant apartments to rent-ready condition.
• Keeps the maintenance shop clean and stocked with parts; maintains inventory.
