Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Maintenance Tech to serve as the community’s go-to service person. You will handle routine maintenance, readiness of apartments for new residents, and on-call responses on weekends and after hours.

The role emphasizes HVAC, electrical, plumbing work, and strong customer service. Daily property walks, safety compliance, and coordination with supervisors are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in apartment maintenance or hotel engineering.
• HVAC, EPA certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds, climb stairs/ladders, and work in varying weather.
• Valid Driver’s License and personal transportation.

Responsibilities

• Respond within 24 hours to service requests.
• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair HVAC systems (furnace, split system, boiler, chiller).
• Inspect, test electrical systems and components (fuses, lights).
• Install/maintain plumbing pipes, valves, fittings, fixtures.
• Repair/maintain appliances (microwave–toaster not included).
• Prepare vacant apartments for market-ready status.
• Use Yardi to maintain maintenance records and progress.
• Walk property daily for upkeep, safety, and snow removal.
• Provide feedback to residents, office, and maintenance team; report major repairs.
• Promote safety/compliance; provide incident reports if needed.
• Be aware of utility cut-offs and water usage.
• Volunteer to assist other technicians at sister communities.
• Maintain workshops; monitor supply levels.
• Maintain professional appearance and check emails daily.
