Job summary

Preferred Apartment Communities is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to perform daily and preventive maintenance at our apartment community in Tampa, FL. You will handle appliances, plumbing, HVAC, and facility upkeep while delivering professional resident service.

You will work under the Maintenance Manager, manage work orders, prepare vacants for rent, and help monitor contractor performance. A refrigeration certification and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in apartment communities.
• Refrigeration certification (Type II or Universal) within 90 days.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Physically able to perform required duties (lifting, climbing ladders, bending, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and preventive maintenance for the apartment community, including appliances, plumbing, HVAC, minor electrical, gate systems, pool operations, and amenity areas.
• Complete resident maintenance work orders and update service requests in the database.
• Prepare vacant apartments for rent with repairs, touch-ups, and light cleaning.
• Maintain all common and amenity areas in a clean, safe condition.
• Assist Maintenance Manager with contractor monitoring and budget adherence.
• Present a professional appearance and assist with resident events as needed.
