Job summary

Preferred Apartment Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle appliance, plumbing, HVAC, electrical repairs, and general property upkeep in our Arlington community. You will respond to emergency calls after hours, prepare apartments for new residents, and maintain facilities and inventory with a focus on resident satisfaction.

The role requires 1–3 years of maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and a refrigeration certification (Type II or Universal) either already

Qualifications

• 1-3 years maintenance experience, apartment maintenance preferred
• Refrigeration certification (Type II or Universal) required or to be obtained within 90 days
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance requests for appliances, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, gates, pools and common areas
• Respond to emergency calls during evenings, weekends and holidays to resolve urgent issues
• Prepare vacant units by completing tasks to make apartments rent-ready
• Maintain facilities and inventory, keep shops organized and ensure amenity areas are clean and functional
• Provide resident support through professional communication, addressing complaints, delivering notices, and assisting with resident events
• Handle administrative tasks such as logging service requests, updating databases, and monitoring vendor performance
