Job summary

Southern Management Companies is seeking a reliable Maintenance Service Technician (M3) in Capitol Heights, MD. The role requires hands-on experience across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and preventative maintenance with strong troubleshooting skills and excellent communication.

The position includes on-call rotation every fourth week, a regular full-time schedule, and a benefits package. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in maintenance related field(s).
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle required.
• Completion of Basic Electric class at SMC training facility and other internal maintenance courses within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests.
• Maintain inventory of supplies.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC fan coil and convector units.
• Complete additional preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Make repairs to grounds and drainage.
• Ensure all work and documentation comply with quality standards.
• Maintain tool kit per SMC checklist.
• Address emergency maintenance as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
• Contribute to community and company engagement efforts.
