Job summary

Southern Management Corporation in Hillcrest Heights, MD is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Service Technician (M3). You will diagnose problems and perform preventive maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and related systems to meet company standards and applicable laws.

The role requires three years of experience in maintenance, a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and a rotating on-call schedule every six weeks with a 50% live-on discount.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in maintenance related field(s).
• Successful completion of Basic Electric class offered at SMC internal training facility.
• Successful completion of all other basic maintenance classes offered internally and all on-the-job training within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests.
• Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC units and related systems.
• Complete additional preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Make repairs to grounds and drainage.
• Ensure all work and documentation comply with internal quality control standards.
• Maintain personal supply of tools as designated by SMC's Tool Checklist.
• Address emergency maintenance as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
• Contribute to community and company engagement efforts.
