Job summary

Community Housing Partners is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for Highlands/Broadway, VA. The role focuses on diagnosing repairs, preventative maintenance, and ensuring safe, well-kept properties for residents.

You will work mostly Mon-Fri, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with an on-call rotation and opportunities for overtime and bonuses. Starting pay is competitive, with benefits and growth potential within CHP's mission-driven nonprofit.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Trade training or certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and complete routine and moderately complex repairs across building systems.
• Respond to resident service requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections.
• Maintain appearance and functionality of buildings and common areas.
• Complete apartment turnovers within established timelines.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with vendor and contractor coordination as needed.
• Maintain accurate work order documentation using mobile maintenance software.
• Follow all safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and company policies.
