Job summary

Volunteers of America Texas seeks an Apartment Maintenance Technician for Seabrook Square in Austin, TX. You’ll perform repairs on PTAC units, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting to maintain safe, comfortable homes for residents.

This full-time role includes on-call duties, a $2,500 sign-on bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. A high school diploma or certificate plus maintenance experience is required, along with a valid Texas DL and a clean MVR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 1 year of maintenance experience, or a maintenance trade/vocational certificate.
• Valid Texas driver's license, clear MVR, and ability to be insured.

Responsibilities

• Repair and service air conditioners, including PTAC units.
• Minor electrical repairs inside and outside units (breakers, outlets, switches, lighting).
• Plumbing repairs as needed on systems and fixtures.
• Carpentry, door repairs and flooring repairs.
• Interior and exterior painting and finishing of surfaces.
• Repairs windows, screens and doors as needed.
• Complete all forms, work orders and related paperwork promptly.
• Work independently and provide own tools.
• Maintain logbooks and document move-outs and routine maintenance.
