Job summary

Volunteers of America Texas in Austin, TX is seeking a full-time maintenance technician to service and repair HVAC systems, electrical and plumbing on affordable housing properties.

You will perform drywall, painting, carpentry, and general repairs, keep accurate daily logs, and respond to on-call duties as needed. A high school diploma or equivalent plus maintenance experience (or a trade certificate) is required. Valid Texas driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of maintenance experience.
• Certificate from a maintenance trade/vocational school may apply.
• Valid Texas Driver's License, clear MVR, and ability to be insured.

Responsibilities

• Repair and service air conditioners, including removal and possible installation of PTAC units.
• Perform minor electrical repairs inside and outside units (breakers, outlets, switches, lighting).
• Carry out plumbing repairs and routine maintenance as needed.
• Perform carpentry, door repairs, flooring repairs, and painting as required.
• Complete forms, work orders, and related paperwork promptly and professionally.
• Work independently and provide your own tools.
• Maintain logbook and records for move-outs, work orders, and preventive maintenance.
