Job summary

Shelter Corporation in Minnesota seeks a Maintenance Technician to proactively maintain and repair apartment communities with a strong focus on customer service. You will perform preventative maintenance, complete work orders, and help keep exterior grounds in top condition.

You will also assist management with scheduling, vendor bids, preparing vacant units, and after-hours emergency repairs, using technology to document work and coordinates with the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years apartment maintenance experience preferred.
• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance requests in a timely manner, including hands-on repairs and preventative upkeep.
• Maintain exterior grounds and common areas; perform snow removal and salting.
• Assist Real Estate Manager or Maintenance Supervisor in prioritizing work orders.
• Assist in scheduling maintenance for buildings and equipment.
• Aid in organizing contractor bids for special contracts or extensive maintenance.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents (painting, cleaning, carpet shampooing, repairs).
• Maintain sufficient maintenance supplies.
• Perform emergency repairs after hours per On-call schedule.
• Report maintenance and safety concerns to Real Estate Manager.
• Utilize technology to track work performed and follow-up resources.
