Job summary

Shelter Corporation is seeking a skilled, dependable Maintenance Technician to help keep our apartment communities safe, comfortable, and well-maintained in Stillwater, MN. You’ll troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, drywall, painting and other building systems, while performing preventive maintenance.

As part of Team Shelter, you’ll prepare vacant homes for new residents, maintain grounds and common areas, document repairs and parts used, and participate in rotating

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 years of apartment or building maintenance experience preferred.
• EPA Section 608 Certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general building maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and carpentry.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspect systems for concerns.
• Prepare vacant apartments for move-in with repairs and painting.
• Maintain grounds and common areas for a clean, safe environment.
• Document repairs, materials used, and follow-up needs in the company system.
• Operate safely with tools and PPE per safety procedures.
• Participate in rotating on-call and respond to after-hours emergencies.
