Job summary

SmartDev is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive AI solution sales across APAC as an individual contributor. You will translate complex AI capabilities into tangible business outcomes, identify and close enterprise deals, and build compelling ROI cases for CTOs, CDOs, and CMOs.

You will lead strategic development, partner with cloud providers, and collaborate with solution architects to scope feasibility while educating prospects on AI risks and governance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in B2B solution sales or business development, with at least 2 years selling AI, ML, or data science services.
• Proven track record closing five-figure to six-figure solution deals (not just SaaS licenses).
• Ability to articulate AI concepts (supervised vs. unsupervised learning, token pricing, fine-tuning).
• Experience selling to technical (CTO, CDO) and business (COO, GM) personas.
• Hunter mentality – comfortable with cold outreach, relationship mapping, and negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Business Development (70%): Identify and target high-potential enterprise accounts across Media, Fintech, and Logistics.
• Build a 12-month pipeline in AI solution opportunities.
• Lead consultative discovery: map client pain points to AI solution blueprints.
• Structure and negotiate complex contracts (POCs, pilot-to-production, managed services).
• Develop strategic partnerships with SI partners, cloud providers, and tech vendors.
