Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to join their client in Louisville, KY. You will oversee all aspects of the AP process, lead a team, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with internal controls to support scalable growth.

You will drive end-to-end AP operations, implement process improvements, and lead month-end close activities while providing accurate financial data to leadership. Strong ERP and GAAP knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounts payable best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the AP team, fostering a positive and high-performance work environment.
  • AP Operations: Oversee end-to-end AP processes, including invoice processing, payment disbursements, and reconciliations.
  • Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve any issues and ensure smooth processes.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements, implementing internal controls to prevent errors or fraud.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve AP processes, exploring automation and efficiencies to enhance productivity and accuracy.
  • Month-End Close: Oversee AP month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and reporting to the accounting team.
  • Reporting: Prepare and analyze AP reports and metrics, presenting findings and recommendations to senior management.
