Job summary

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene seeks a supervisory social worker to oversee case monitors, assist in preparing treatment plans and court orders, and coordinate with mental health providers and families to ensure engagement with court-mandated treatment. You will assess care quality, participate in case conferences, and manage program administration.

A Master’s in Social Work and two years of relevant experience with supervisory duties are required, with CSW/LMSW

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited school.
• Two years of full-time social work experience, including supervisory duties.
• CSW or LMSW certification must be obtained within 18 months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise case monitors in their performance and decision making.
• Assist in the preparation of treatment plans and court orders.
• Collaborate with mental health providers and families to monitor engagement with court-mandated treatment.
• Assess the quality and appropriateness of community care planned and provided.
• Participate in case conferences to discuss consumer eligibility for AOT and progress under court order.
• Manage administrative responsibilities including staff timekeeping and hiring processes.
• Oversee administrative duties in the absence of the team Assistant Director.
