Job summary

The Southern California Alcohol and Drug Programs, Inc. in Downey, CA is hiring an AOD Support Staff II in training to become a counselor. You will participate in group counseling, monitor the program premises for safety, and assist with crisis management under supervision.

You will gain required experience, track treatment records in EHR, and support medications administration while building hours toward certification.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background checks.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as required.
• Ability to work with difficult or distressed clients in program setting.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, learn alcohol and drug counseling functions including screening, assessment, and intake.
• Collect specimens for drug and alcohol screening per policy and procedures.
• Collaborate with case manager and therapist to assist treatment plans and interventions.
• Complete discharge and transition plans and maintain required EHR entries.
• Monitors client self-administration of prescribed medication and documents accordingly.
• Transport participants as needed in program vehicle to offsite appointments.

AA or higher degree in related field

AOD counseling certification program (CCAPP CADTP CADEE)
