Job summary

Within MaineHealth’s ambulatory pharmacy program, the pharmacy technician will be a part of our growing Hemostasis and Thrombosis program. The technician will help clinical pharmacists provide medication therapy for anticoagulant, antiplatelet, and hemostatic agents.

Responsibilities include assisting with anticoagulation care in the clinic, maintaining patient charts in the EHR, documenting INR results and patient contacts, triaging calls, and supporting prescription claims processing and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current or eligible state Pharmacy Technician license; CPhT preferred.
• Six months of experience as a licensed pharmacy technician.

Responsibilities

• Assists clinical pharmacists with core functions of anticoagulation care within the clinic.
• Prepares and maintains patient charts in the electronic health record.
• Ensures proper documentation of INR results and patient communications.
• Triages phone calls and refers to appropriate providers.
• Assists with processing of prescription claims and patient affordability.
