Job summary

beehiiv is seeking a Security Software Engineer focused on Anti-Abuse to help protect our platform and users from fraud. You will work hands-on in a small Trust & Safety team to design, build, and maintain anti-abuse systems.

You will own security features across the core product, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch robust protections against abuse while staying ahead of emerging threats. On-site in the United States.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails or similar MVC backend frameworks.
• Experience with modern test frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Jest, Selenium, Rspec).
• Solid understanding of full-stack web architectures and production behavior.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security and anti-abuse features in our core product.
• Collaborate with Trust & Safety team on projects and strategy.
• Lead code reviews for security-related features.
• Support the creation and improvement of machine learning models by assisting with training data.
• Work with cross-functional teams to launch features with anti-abuse and security measures.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents and abuse reports.
• Stay up-to-date with security threats and anti-abuse techniques.
• Implement third-party integrations into production systems.
