Job summary

Bumble Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in Trust & Safety to guide the technical direction of safety platforms that detect, prevent, and respond to harmful behavior at scale.

You will lead large-scale distributed systems, mentor engineers, and drive cloud-native transitions across multiple teams and services. You will collaborate with Product, Data Science, ML, Policy, Legal, and Operations to translate evolving threats into durable technical solutions while maintaining high standards

Qualifications

• 8+ years in backend or distributed systems engineering with cross-team impact.
• Expertise in Go, Java, and Kotlin with production-scale platforms.
• Experience migrating platforms to cloud-native architectures and common tooling.

Responsibilities

• Guide technical direction for Trust & Safety platform and its detection/enforcement workflows.
• Design and evolve large-scale distributed systems with multiple teams.
• Lead cloud migrations, establish APIs, schemas, and event contracts.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, ML, Policy, Legal, and Operations.
• Mentor senior engineers and raise engineering standards across teams.
• Contribute hands-on code and critical designs for safety-critical components.
