Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking an Antepartum Registered Nurse to assess patients, develop and implement care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for safe delivery of care. The role includes antepartum, OB/GYN, delivery and newborn care as needed.

The ideal candidate has 1 year RN experience, an ADN (BSN preferred), and Texas RN license (Compact allowed with 90-day licensure). BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical nursing experience as an RN
• Acute care experience preferred
• ADN required; BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform and document patient assessments at admission
• Create and revise care plans including discharge planning
• Document outcomes of nursing interventions and patient responses
• Ensure physician orders are transcribed correctly
• Provide educational materials to patients and families
• Keep physicians and supervisors informed of significant information
• Administer medications and complete treatments per hospital policy
• Delegate tasks to non-licensed staff per standards of practice
• Care for OB/GYN, immediate delivery and postpartum maternal patients; transitioned newborns as needed
