Job summary

St. Davids North Austin Medical Center in Texas seeks a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery. You will coordinate and provide patient care, perform thorough assessments, and develop individualized care plans for laboring patients and newborns.

The role requires a Texas RN license (or compact), 1 year of RN experience in maternity care, BLS, and per policy ACLS/ALS and NRP certifications. ADN is required; BSN preferred. Expect family-centered teaching and discharge planning support.

Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical nursing experience as an RN
• Current State of Texas RN license or Compact license; Texas license within 90 days of hire
• BLS certification required; ACLS/ALS per policy; NRP certification per policy

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide patient care for Labor & Delivery patients
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop care plans
• Document assessments and patient education; facilitate discharge planning
• Administer medications accurately and document diligently
• Identify changes in patient condition and report promptly to physician/charge nurse
• Support interdisciplinary discharge planning and family education
