Job summary

Second Heart Homes, Inc. is seeking an experienced fundraiser to lead our annual fund and develop donor relationships for adults living with mental illness experiencing homelessness in Florida.

You will manage communications, provide compelling solicitation appeals, and collaborate with the Executive Director on major gifts and strategy. The role emphasizes relationship building, donor cultivation, and data-driven fundraising to sustain growth of our private, donor-funded programs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience with a proven record of securing donations.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills for donor communications.
• Experience with donor portfolios, campaigns, CRM systems, and stewardship.
• Ability to build relationships and solicit giving directly from individuals.
• Willingness to work some evenings and weekends for donor meetings.

Responsibilities

• Own and grow the annual fund through donor cultivation, personal solicitations, acquisition, retention, upgrades, and recurring giving.
• Manage donor portfolios and identify major-gift prospects for the Executive Director.
• Conduct donor meetings and discovery calls to build relationships and opportunities.
• Maintain a fundraising pipeline, track results, and report progress toward goals.
• Oversee development systems, communications, and stewardship processes.
