Job summary

ClinLab Solutions Group in Boston seeks an Animal Care Supervisor to lead daily operations of our animal care facilities, ensuring regulatory compliance and the highest standards of animal welfare.

You will supervise a team, manage equipment such as cagewashers and autoclaves, develop policies and SOPs, and support training and audit programs with on-call duties. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills gained in a research support environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 1-3 years supervisory experience required; 3-5 years preferred.
• Experience in a research support environment and knowledge of regulations governing animal research.
• Willingness to participate in rotating on-call coverage and periodic travel between campuses.
• Remote work may be available one day per week, depending on workload and operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of animal care staff, including scheduling, work assignments, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee maintenance and operation of facility equipment such as cagewashers, tunnelwashers, autoclaves, and vacuum systems.
• Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and standard operating protocols for animal husbandry and facility operations.
• Assist with hiring, training, and disciplinary actions for animal care personnel, ensuring effective team performance.
• Support disease control and treatment programs in collaboration with veterinary staff, and direct husbandry activities.
• Monitor compliance with regulations governing the use of animals in research and assist with related training for technical and investigative staff.
• Provide emergency coverage for animal facility operations and perform census/data reporting as needed.
• Participate in on-call rotation for facility operations and travel periodically between local campuses as required.
