Michigan Humane is seeking an ACC Assistant Manager to support the Animal & Customer Care team at the Detroit shelter and adoption center. You will help ensure high-quality animal care and smooth daily operations, guiding staff and volunteers in handling, care, and customer service.

Qualifications

• HS diploma plus 1-2 years of relevant experience, including at least 12 months of animal care.
• Knowledge of safe animal handling techniques.
• Basic math and computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing animal protection shelters.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day duties of shelter and adoption center.
• Train staff and volunteers in animal handling and ACC procedures.
• Ensure staff follow MH policies; coach and review performance.
• Supervise animal records in the software system.
• Coordinate transfers with other locations and arrange offsite events.
• Open/close Animal Care Center, order supplies, develop schedules.
