The Salvation Army is seeking a weekend-only Seasonal Warehouse Assistant in the Birmingham, AL area. The role supports the Angel Tree program, handling donations and assisting with warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include lifting and loading items, assisting donors, performing data entry, and helping with site setup and pickups from malls or corporate partners during Nov–Dec. High school diploma preferred but not required.

Job Details:

Job Location: ALM-Birmingham AL Area Command - Birmingham, AL, Salary Range: $10.00, For weekend only Shops of Grand River (Leeds, AL).

Saturday 11A-7P/Sunday 12P-6P

Provides support for the seasonal Angel Tree program; lifts, carries, loads and unloads a variety of Christmas gift donations; serves as an attendant at Angel Tree sites; interacts with donors and responds to questions regarding the donation process; assists with the cleanup, lay out, and set up of the warehouse; assists with pick up from the malls or corporations. Performs data entry of recipient information. This is a Christmas seasonal position Nov-Dec.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma of G.E.D. preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
• Ability to stand in one location for extended periods.
• Work requires working in a warehouse environment with exposure to fluctuating temperatures and discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
