Job summary

The Salvation Army in Birmingham, AL is seeking a seasonal warehouse assistant for the Christmas Angel Tree program. The role runs November through December, Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 7 PM, at the Galleria Mall.

You will lift and carry donations under 25 lbs, assist with site setup, interact with donors, and perform data entry for recipient information. No advanced education required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to follow instructions with limited supervision.

• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers.
• Knowledge of The Salvation Army Christmas Angel Tree Program.
• Ability to follow instructions with limited supervision.
• Ability to relate to the general public in a polite, friendly manner.
• Ability to abide by the required dress code.

Education and Experience –

• High School Diploma of G.E.D. preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
• Ability to stand in one location for extended periods.
• Work requires working in a warehouse environment with exposure to fluctuating temperatures and discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
