Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. seeks an Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesia team by preparing equipment, assisting with procedures, and maintaining supplies across OR and related areas. You will work under supervision to ensure sterile environments and readiness for diverse procedures.

The role emphasizes equipment troubleshooting, patient safety, and collaboration with anesthesiology staff, nurses, and clinicians in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Technician program or related training.
• Biology, physiology or anatomy coursework preferred.
• 0-2 years as an Anesthesia Technician in hospital/surgical setting preferred.
• 1-2 years as an LVN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare anesthetizing locations by setting up and maintaining monitoring devices and anesthesia equipment.
• Assist anesthesia providers with aseptic techniques during procedures including airway management and IV/arterial access.
• Monitor and report abnormal changes in patient vitals or appearance to anesthesia providers.
• Restock anesthesia supplies in operating rooms and other areas to ensure readiness.
• Assist with ABGs, ACTs and other point-of-care tests as needed.
• Prepare and deliver blood products and pharmaceuticals as requested by the anesthesia team.
• Provide guidance to other technicians and team members as needed.
• Assist with patient transport, positioning, and monitoring under supervision.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate with repair departments.
• Maintain readiness for routine and emergency procedures.
