Job summary

Intuit invites motivated students to join its Mobile Software Engineer Intern - Android program. You will contribute to Android app features, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and gain hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools.

You will work in a hybrid environment at an Intuit office, with mentorship from engineers and exposure to senior leadership across product ecosystems, including TurboTax and QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program with expected graduation after internship ends.
• Familiarity with AI tools and curiosity about applying AI to real-world problems.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.
• Ability to work in a hybrid Intuit office location with relocation stipend.
• Experience building Android applications, ideally with Kotlin.
• Familiarity with Android architecture and development frameworks (Jetpack, Coroutines, MVVM).
• Working knowledge of Kotlin, Java, and Python.
• Comfort collaborating with designers and backend engineers to connect mobile apps to cloud APIs.
• Familiarity with Agile development and SDLC.
• Self-starter with initiative and independent decision-making.
• Strong problem-solving skills and track record of delivering tasks.
• Desire to learn and grow in a technical environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test features for Intuit's Android applications, from UI to services they call.
• Write clean, well-tested Kotlin and Java code, and participate in code reviews to maintain a high bar.
• Debug and resolve defects across the app, tracing issues from UI to the stack.
• Partner with engineers, designers, and product managers to turn requirements into working software.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate workflow and share learnings with the team.
• Support deployment and ongoing maintenance of features you help ship.
