Job summary

Intuit Inc. in San Diego, CA is offering a Mobile Software Engineer Intern - Android position for students currently enrolled in a degree program.

You will design, build, and test Android features, write Kotlin/Java, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful mobile experiences across Intuit's product ecosystem. You'll gain hands-on experience with AI-assisted tools, work in a hybrid office setting, and have opportunities for mentorship and growth during the 12-week

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program with an expected graduation after internship ends.
• Familiarity with AI tools and curiosity about applying AI to real-world problems.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment at an Intuit office location determined by team and role.
• Experience building Android applications, ideally with Kotlin.
• Familiarity with Android architecture and development frameworks (Jetpack, Coroutines, MVVM).
• Working knowledge of Kotlin, Java, and Python.
• Comfort partnering with designers and backend engineers to connect mobile apps to cloud-based APIs.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
• A 'self-starter' attitude with initiative and independent decision-making.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a history of delivering on tasks.
• Desire to learn and grow within a technical environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test features for Intuit's Android applications, from UI to services.
• Write clean, well-tested Kotlin and Java code and participate in code reviews.
• Debug and resolve defects across the app, tracing issues from UI to the stack.
• Partner with engineers, designers, and product managers to implement requirements.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate workflow and share learnings with the team.
• Support deployment and ongoing maintenance of shipped features.
