Position Summary
The Sinclair Anatomy and Physiology Department utilizes labsto enhance the lecture presentations of our course offerings. Thelabs include human anatomy and physiology labs. With these greatacademic facilities, students have plenty of opportunities to gainhands-on experience through our programs.
The Biology Department is currently seeking adjunctinstructors across multiple locations, including our Dayton Campus,Centerville Campus, and Mason location.
While opportunities are available at all sites, our greatest andmost immediate need is at our Mason location, specifically onTuesdays and Thursdays. The teaching day begins at 9:30 AM andconcludes at 3:50 PM.
The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is$1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach. For the full list ofavailable courses to teach, please explore our coursecatalog.
This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform work within one of these states. Sinclair Community College restricts part-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, and benefits compliance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities
- Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment
- Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
- Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections inaccordance with department and divisional policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse student’s needs
- Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester
Requirements
- Minimum of a master’s degree in biology required; or a master’sdegree with at least 18 semester credit hours of biology graduatecoursework in the content area required
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience in humananatomy and physiology preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse collegecommunity
- Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction
